Registered Nurse - Wound Care at The University of Vermont Health Network

Unit Description: Wound Care RNs are responsible for the Skin and Wound Care Department at Woodridge Skilled Nursing Facility (WDR). The Wound Care RN provides direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching and preparation for continuing care - the clinical experts and resource for WDR residents. The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates clinical leadership skills through mentoring, providing educational programs for staff, and modeling excellent clinical and customer service. The role has 3 primary functions: 1) specialty clinical practice; 2) management of evidenced based practice skin and wound care and 3) administrative development and support.

• BSN required
• CWCN certification within 1 year of hire required
• 2 years of clinical experience preferred
• Leadership or Nursing Education experience preferred

On-call: Not required.
