Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Administers all therapy modalities to adult patients per physician orders.

1. Initiates, operates and monitors mechanical ventilators, and NIVV.

1. Performs arterial puncture, and blood gas and electrolyte analysis.

1. Responds to all Code Blue and Rapid Response Calls.

1. Adheres to established quality control protocol.

1. Verifies all physician orders prior to therapy.

1. Conducts thorough, accurate report to oncoming staff.

1. Enters all patient interventions and updates into Meditech.

1. Enters therapy charges and supplies.

1. Participates in all areas of departmental duties, including assistance in new employee orientation and continuing education.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Active Virginia Licensure- Respiratory Therapist
• Active Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
