Responsibilities

Develop, implement and consult on specialized treatment plans for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

• Assess patients and develop care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team.
• Provide treatment and diagnostic testing to patients according to physician orders.
• Organize and present educational programs on an inpatient/outpatient basis.
• Evaluate and calibrate all equipment.
• Perform and document maintenance checks.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

One or more of the following:

• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in Pulmonary Function credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) required within 6 months of hire.
• Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday-Friday with rotating holidays, no weekends.
