SCOPE OF WORK: Oversees all student registrations, academic records, degree audits and conferrals, with responsibility for maintaining security and the accuracy of all student records and managing all aspects of the registrar's operations and services. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs at Lakes Region Community College (LRCC). ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Utilizing Banner, performs varied and moderately complex work in authenticating academic records and transcripts, preparing reports and processing information requests relative to college policies, courses, degree requirements, scholarships.
Gathers and analyzes data as requested by college and system administration.
Acts as the LRCC representative to collaborate on CCSNH shared services Registrar model.
Serves as the FERPA officer and exercises judgment and resourcefulness in ensuring complete and accurate maintenance of student records and certification of transcripts, in accordance with the Student Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and FERPA.
Prepares IPEDS and National Student Clearinghouse reports and other required reporting (such as but not limited to WIOA (for-credit), RSP-Tuition Break, NECHE, RS188-H, NC-SARA, DOD MOU, etc.) ensuring LRCC remains in compliance.
Ensures accuracy of student records including but not limited to; registration, grades, transfer credits, curriculum records and personal information.
Along with the Academic and Student Affairs Office assists with building academic years in Banner, assists with building courses and assists with changes to the course schedule.
Determines student eligibility each term for President/VP lists, probation/suspension, graduation honors, and Phi Theta Kappa membership.
Serves as a Certifying Official and ensures new programs, changes to programs and other VA related items are approved by the VA. Certifies VA students if needed.
Contacts state and federal agencies such as Veteran’s Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Security, etc. to secure such approvals as are required by law, policy or procedure.
Serves as a member of the Curriculum Committee to ensure adherence to curriculum rules and regulations.
Completes degree audits to ensure students applying to graduate have met all graduation requirements.
Supports graduation of students by developing lists of students who intend to graduate, identifying student receiving gold tassels and gold cords, etc., - ordering covers to distribute at ceremony, confirming with PTK advisor students with such membership, providing student list for event programs, providing student list with program and town to marketing for distribution, determining honors for graduates, and ordering diplomas.
Makes policy recommendations relating to academic issues to the VP of Academic and Student Affairs and AVP of Academic & Student Affairs.
Supervisory duties as assigned to support Registrar functions.
Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in business administration, education, computer science, social science, or related field of study.
Experience: Five years’ experience in an academic environment responsible for registering students and implementing academic policies and procedures.
License/Certification: Possession of a valid NH drivers’ license or access to transportation.
Recommended Work Traits: Considerable knowledge of registration procedures and admissions policies at the Institute/College level. Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures. Knowledge of report preparation procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to work with and maintain security of confidential material. Ability to supervise office staff. Ability to perform detailed work, involving written or numerical data and make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately. Ability to conduct studies and analysis contributing to sound operational procedures. Ability to understand and carry out complex written and oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, public and private agencies and the general public. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
