Position:
We're looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team.
Where You'll Work
This role will be based out of our Concord, MA headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives and collaboration is key.
Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Friday being remote, flex days.

What You'll Do:
- Serve as the R&D lead on all product-related regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with legal, product development, marketing, sales, food safety & quality, sourcing, planning, and operations to identify and address current and future regulatory needs supporting business goals.
- Provide regulatory expertise and guidance to ensure company-wide ingredients, product compositions, labels, claims, and communications align with external regulations and Welch's standards.
- Oversee ingredient and product compliance throughout their lifecycle, maintaining up-to-date, traceable regulatory documents.
- Advise Marketing, Sales, and R&D on product concepts, claims, and formulations to ensure compliance with FDA, FTC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee claim substantiation documentation.
- Manage Non-GMO Project Verification certifications and audit support.
- Provide internal and external customer support for ingredient/product safety and regulatory issues, including timely compliance reviews and documentation.
- Organize, perform, and report on testing related to regulatory analysis programs.
- Navigate business issues while balancing regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Monitor new and proposed changes in laws, rulings, regulations and enforcement activities impacting the use of ingredients, product safety, labeling and advertising.
- Assess the impact on Welch's business and advise senior management on regulatory changes, risks and opportunities.
- Organize training for internal teams on regulatory requirements and their business implications.
- Lead the planning and execution of regulatory-driven changes impacting product portfolios.
- May participate in trade associations as a subject matter expert
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Who You Are:
- Detail-oriented and quick learner.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting complex data.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Expert in use of processes, tools and systems (e.g., PLM) for regulatory reviews and documentation.
- Skilled in identifying alternatives to meet business and regulatory standards and the risks associated with them.
- Experienced in developing regulatory assessments for product portfolios.
- Adept at navigating regulatory complexities.
- Strong written, oral, and collaboration skills with all levels in the company.
- Effective working independently or in teams, with minimal supervision.
- Strong stakeholder management for swift issue resolution.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of regulatory affairs experience in the U.S. food and beverage industry, with significant FDA experience.
- Extensive knowledge of US federal, state, and local food & beverage regulations
- Expertise in FDA labeling regulations.
- Strong interdisciplinary knowledge in analytics and chemistry.
- Excellent written and oral skills to communicate with all levels of business.
- Professional-level proficiency in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; PLM system experience preferred.
