You will serve as a primary interface for our Nuclear Materials Management (NMM) team. You will be an integral part of our team of experts providing database creation and maintenance of nuclear material at the NNSS. The chosen candidate provides services such as developing reports for DOE/NNSA headquarters as well as populating and analyzing the inventory control database in support of the MSTS NMM Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nuclear Material Manager by maintaining database reports on multiple networks.
- Work with the Nuclear Materials Manager and NMM team to develop DOE Order 410.2 reports for headquarters.
- Assist with compiling biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to headquarters.
- Work with subcontractors to extract/maintain information from LANMAS [Local Area Network Material Accountability System] and uploading to the local NMM database.
- Maintain and update databases for the inventory of all nuclear material at the NNSS and all outlying locations.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining new and legacy nuclear material characterization data.
- Obtain and validate nuclear material information is accurate on all receipts of nuclear material from various shippers.
- Support the Nuclear Material Review Board process (NMRB). Includes assisting the NMRB Chair, Voting Members, and NMM team; internal/external project representatives with completion of Nuclear Material Request (NMR) forms; entering NMR data into the electronic workflow system (ServiceNow); sending letters; setting up unclassified and classified meetings; maintaining the NMRB Log to completion; and working with IT on electronic workflow system enhancements.
- Audit existing reporting functions to ensure accuracy and documenting data structure/locations for future reporting use.
- Work with the Procurement Systems team and Procurement Management to prepare and maintain contracts with outside vendors (Subcontract Technical Representative)
- Follow defined standards and processes, change management processes, and other company policies and regulations.
- Develop and revise company- and department-level directives, organization procedures, and desktop instructions, as required.
- Conduct and/or contribute to other reports, plans, and analytical studies at the direction of the NMM Manager, to include derivative classification reviews.
- Provide support with travel arrangements and training scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree in worker safety and health, quality assurance, nuclear engineering,radiological protection, law, security, law enforcement or other related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 2 years’ relevant experience.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions as provided in company documents.
- Domestic travel will be required.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is: $77,334.40 - $116,001.60.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
