JOB SUMMARY:
Manages and directs the research and development programs to meet organizational needs and capitalize on potential new products
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Product Lifecycle and Commercialization Process Management:
• Implement new products, new packaging structures, graphics changes, and product formula changes.
• Coordinate functional activities across the organization.
• Ensure process alignment and compliance.
• Conduct weekly status meetings.
• Ensure internal and external databases are accurately maintained.
2. Research & Development (R&D):
• Maintain product databases and nutritional profiles.
• Develop ingredient statements and handle allergen declarations.
• Identify and manage product claims.
3. Product Management:
• Set up new items using internal ERP systems.
• Internally manage item numbers, BOM, and shelf life.
• Coordinate external customer site setup.
• Ensure launch assets align with pricing assumptions.
• Complete customer documentation.
• Coordinate externally with USDA, FoodChain ID, and 1World Sync.
4. Artwork Management:
• Develop product details and claims.
• Manage distribution of assets.
• Complete work orders and timelines.
• Liaise with customers and printers.
• Approve printer proofs and create case labels.
• Track changes and oversee art projects.
5. Regulatory Compliance Management:
• Review product compliance, handle third-party product registrations, and oversee artwork review.
• Manage certifications such as GFCO and Non-GMO Project Verified.
• Oversee export registrations for different regions.
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and handle deviations.
• Approve raw material suppliers and certifications.
6. Food Safety & Quality Support:
• Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Safety rules.
• Encourage immediate reporting of Food Safety and Quality concerns.
7. Timeline Management:
• Identify and meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Ensure on-time product launches.
8. Customer Interaction:
• Act as a technical and product point of contact for customers.
• Handle various customer databases, including Amazon, Daily Harvest, Costco, Walmart, Wegman, Trader Joes, etc.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree, Project Management degree a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of commercialization experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Great time management, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Work in and out of a cold environment.
2. 90% of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
3. 10% of time standing.
4. Must wear required PPE.
5. Lift up to 25 lbs.
6. Maneuver around an array of equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in an office and a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery.
