Description:
Provide support to the Reimbursement Department as requested by the Department Manager; review reimbursements and issues in Carrier Payment Audits.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review all insurance company reimbursements in all practices for all providers
- Identify issues and appeal if necessary using software or other resource tools
- Prepare audit results
- Keep Department Manager current of all findings and audits and advise as necessary
- Train all follow-up new hires and assist in auditing of new hires work after release from training
Education (Degrees, Certificates, Licenses, Etc.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Computer Skills
- Prior word processing, spreadsheet and internet software experience including proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word required.
Experience
- Prior third-party medical billing experience preferred or one to two years related experience in a fast paced, high volume, changing environment preferred.

- Ability to maximize use of all software resources for efficiency
- Ability to maintain current records
- Ability to maintain bi-monthly audit reports
- Ability to add, to subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; this ability will encompass using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, use hands, talk, hear and occasionally walk and reach with hands or arms
Work Environment
- This position is located in a temperature-controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually light to moderate.
