About the Job
Our Direct Client has a new Reliability Engineer job. In this Reliability Engineer job you will be responsible for providing oversight of design activities including conducting technical risk assessments early in the design process, reviewing Qualification Test Plans and Qualification Test Reports in the development and validation phases, and reviewing the ability of manufacturing to meet the product design intent and providing the final Qualification Approval of release of new designs to manufacturing. The role will also provide supplier oversight, disposition of Supplier and Manufacturing non-conformances, and providing Subject Matter Expertise for new product development and Failure Mode Analysis activities.
Responsibilities:
• Document reliability group processes, detailed reliability calculations, Qualification Approvals and reliability requirements.
• Provide reliability support in Core Teams to assure adequate reliability for the product as designed.
• Develop strategies for selecting suppliers, and qualifying components, subsystems, and processes.
• Manage the interaction with key and strategic suppliers from reliability perspective.
• Manage reliability, supply, schedule jeopardies, as required.
• Perform modeling and analysis of failure modes in areas of technical expertise.
• Support the generation of responses to Requests for Quotation on new systems by supplying reliability information as appropriate.
• Develop initiatives to improve functionality, lead time or cost basis while maintaining reliability.
• Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with Clients policies, procedures, and core values.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in related field Materials Engineering or Science preferred
• Knowledge of the Principles of Reliability Science
• Knowledge of the Physics of Failure of key components in area of technology expertise
• Ability to conduct a FIT Rate Analysis of Clients products
• Ability to conduct a Technical Risk Analysis for a Design effort
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including quality tools and techniques
• Knowledge appropriate to the functions of the assigned processes
• Knowledge of training development and delivery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively
• Ability to work well in teams with persons of different organizations, job types and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to prepare customer-facing documentation and support at face-to-face meetings
