Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for an Environmental Scientist Intern to join our Real Estate and Remediation team. This position will work closely with the project team coordinator to assist with environmental due diligence and remediation projects, mainly focusing on preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Reports. Your Key Responsibilities
+ Site health and safety planning and completing work safety.
+ Support the preparation of project deliverables including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, quarterly progress reports, sampling and analysis plans, site investigation reports and remedial action plans.
+ Participate in workplan preparation including development of conceptual site model.
+ Analysis and interpretation of environmental data.
+ Collect and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
+ Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills, with both clients and project team members.
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
+ Position will primarily work in the office. Some field work and site visits may be necessary. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
+ Extended hours and schedules may be necessary to fit project demands.
+ Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
+ Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Education and Experience
+ Working towards a degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related Scientific field, at least three years of college / University coursework completed.
