Remote Certified Medical Assistant (Part-Time) - Purpose Workforce Solutions

Our client is looking for dedicated Part-Time Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to join their rapidly growing team.

In this fully remote role, you will collaborate closely with U.S.-based medical professionals to support the healthcare system and ensure that the interests of healthcare providers, patients, and medical establishments are met. This opportunity is perfect for detail-oriented individuals with a background in medical assistance who want to work from the comfort of their homes while providing exceptional support.

Shift: Monday- Friday 3:30pm-7:00pm

Location: Remote - Must be based in Chicago, IL, or surrounding areas

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to manage inquiries, schedule appointments, and verify data.
• Navigate various Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Epic, to input, update, and manage patient records.
• Verify patient healthcare insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Provide comprehensive administrative support, including data entry, appointment scheduling, email and record management, and time-keeping.
• Act as the primary liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and building professional relationships.
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the state of Illinois is required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a medical-related role or familiarity with U.S. medical insurance processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in G Suite and/or Microsoft Office (intermediate level).
• Familiarity with medical terminologies and EMR systems (such as Epic).
• Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• A professional license in nursing, health, or behavioral sciences is highly preferred.
• HIPAA Certification is a plus.
