We’re excited to work with a climate justice organization that works on a wide range of environmental issues, including climate change, clean energy, conservation, and environmental justice. To advance these goals we engage in grassroots organizing, electoral engagement, and public education. We’re looking for organizers to recruit and mobilize volunteers for climate justice activities in Pennsylvania. This position involves a mix of remote and in-person work.
Remote Organizer Qualifications & Requirements
- Enthusiasm for mobilizing volunteers for progressive causes and candidates
- Ability to connect authentically with activists from across the country with various backgrounds and skill levels
- Ability to use or learn to use remote work tools (Slack, Google Apps, Zoom, etc.)
- Experience writing clear and concise instructional materials
- Familiarity in volunteering or working with progressive campaigns or candidates
- Willing to run multiple Zoom trainings per week
- Ready to work nights and weekends when volunteers are generally available
- Overtime work during the final month (up to 60 hours per week)
- Travel October-Election day to support on-the-ground efforts
- Cell phone with hotspot
- Laptop and internet access that can support online video and other web-based platforms
Remote Organizer Duties
- Train volunteers to write letters to voters in battleground states.
- Create well-organized trackers and staff workflows in Google Sheets
- Learn to do admin-side tasks in various texting and calling platforms
- Text and turnout volunteers for action activities
- During the final month of the election train volunteers to knock on doors in Pennsylvania
- During the final month of the election complete regular canvassing shifts in Pennsylvania alongside volunteers
- Develop basic proficiency with Mobilize
- Write volunteer-facing guides, emails, and other instructional materials
