A Remote Cloud Architect job is currently available at Belcan. We have an immediate need for a 2 month (346 hrs) contract position in support of a Cloud Data Archive Project. This position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following items: Job Responsibilities: -Minimum of 3 years in a similar role (AWS Systems Engineering) -Design and implement a data archiving solution using AWS Services and Tape Media -Leverage your extensive AWS and Enterprise Backup experience to provide feedback to and implementation of the scoped Data Archive Project -Define metrics to carefully monitor the health or utilization of AWS resources -Working closely with team members to drive real-time monitoring and alerting of backup systems -Partner/collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results, including security and compliance -Perform system troubleshooting and issue remediation -Other duties as assigned or related to the scoped project Skills and Requirements: -Knowledge of filesystem, block, object storage, Storage architectures and backup/DR strategies -Experience with AWS Storage Gateway/VTL, AWS Simple Storage Service (S3), and storage management-Experience in setup and configuring AWS components by using CLI and automation pipelines -Experience in creating and managing VPC, Subnets, Security Group, and NACL -Experience in debugging AWS services/environment issues -Experience with Enterprise Backup services and concepts, Enterprise Backup design -Experience with Dell Data Protection Suite/NetWorker or Commvault a plus -Understands the role that networking plays in complex storage architectures -Strong understanding and interest in Linux operating systems such as RedHat, CentOS and Rocky Linux -Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills -Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment -Proven work ethic, tenacity, and focus -Attention to detail and accuracy -Driven, self-motivated, with a desire to succeed -Work will take place in the Eastern Time Zone Qualifications :High School diploma required, ITIL Foundations Certification Desired, Vocational/Technical/Business School (6-8 Months specialized training), or equivalent. 2+ years in technical support environment and/or customer service. Additional Information: Contract position (40 hours, Mon-Fri). Due to the nature of our work US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Must be eligible to receive a US Government security clearance. COMPENSATION: We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an hourly rate of up to $210/hr however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
