Field Service Engineer
One of my best clients, a leading manufacturer/OEM of precision CNC manufacturing cutting tools, is looking for a Field Service Technician, working remotely and traveling the US, Mexico and Canada.
A bit about the company:
For over 50 years, they have been a leading producer of cutting machine tools worldwide, making LARGE top-of-the-line CNC machines, 5-axis, etc. With operations nationally and internationally, they are recession-durable. This is a long-term opportunity to grow with a leading global, stable, structured company. Those looking to build their skills with real-world experience in the field. Their customers are medical device, automotive and aerospace. They have low turnover with several retiring. Very close knit team.
The job:
- Travel to customer sites primarily in United States, Canada, and Mexico (with potential travel throughout Central & South America) to service machine tool machines, including; troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, installation, installation start-up, etc.
- With paid travel time, OT total annual compensation over $150k+ easily
- Be “on-call” for emergency dispatch to customer sites as required, Provide telephone service support to customers.
- Assist with modification and re-assembly of in-house machines as required.
- Field Service Technicians are hourly with the opportunity for overtime.
- Ninety-five percent travel, so it is best to be close to the airport. Traveling weekly. Home most weekends.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with machine tools, in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, servicing CNC machines.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelors in a technical field, trade schools or certificates work too.
- Strong electrical knowledge, including the ability to read and understand related schematic drawings, with the ability to read PLC programming as required to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Mechanical, Electrical, and hydraulic experience.
- Valid passport for travel to and from United States.
- Excellent customer service skills and proven ability in developing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a driving record free of serious incidents.
