KeyLogic is Growing! We have an immediate need for a ProjectGeologist/Petroleum Engineer/Environmental Scientist to join our team supporting the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This position will support focus on research related to marginal wells, including R&D associated with methane emissions and other environmental impacts associated with upstream resources.
Position Requirements:
· Ability to pass any required background checks and obtain any necessary security clearances required by our clients
· Bachelor's Degree in geology, petroleum engineering, environmental science/engineering, or a related discipline
· An advanced degree (M.S.) along with experience related to oil and natural gas production and transport along and an understanding of the environmental impacts associated with the oil and natural gas value chain is preferred.
· 5+ years of related experience supporting oil and natural gas production and transport, including environmental assessments
· The ability to read, comprehend, and summarize technical information from multiple sources into a singular communication document
· Professional experience related to the management, operation, and maintenance of marginal or stripper wells with both a production and environmental impact focus is highly desired
· High degree of demonstrated intellectual and analytical skills
· The ability to work independently, as well as in a structured team environment with federal and other technical services contractors
· The ability to manage multiple tasks with often overlapping deadlines
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with clients and colleagues on a daily basis
· Excellent writing and research skills are essential
· Must be result oriented and able to work on multifaceted-assignments in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment
Position Responsibilities:
· Provide technical, analytical and coordination support for conceptualization, formulation, implementation, and management of program planning, outreach activities, cooperative programs, and projects focusing on environmentally prudent resource development, methane emissions mitigation/quantification, and environmental impact assessment and remediation
· Advancing NETL's energy and environmental activities that promote resource sustainability
· Conducting technical reviews of cutting-edge and state-of-the-art technologies and processes related to reducing the environmental footprint of oil and natural gas production and transportation as well as other sustainability related goals as defined by our clients
· Create visual and written communications documents related to resource sustainability to inform various unique audiences in an efficient and effective manner
· Conduct data analysis to inform program initiatives and support the development of our client’s strategic vision
· Locate and verify relevant information and data sources related to our client’s strategic vision and resource sustainability R&D efforts
· Support fellow team members with all tasks as required to support our clients’ needs
· Potential for minimal and intermittent travel to technical conferences to support our clients’ program portfolio and mission
· Advancing NETL's energy and environmental activities that promote resource sustainability
