Job Summary






University of Virginia Health System Renal Services

(Level I Tertiary Care/Trauma Center/teaching hospital)


Join a talented group of close to 65 dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 600 bed inpatient setting, as well in over 30 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education.


We operate 12 outpatient dialysis facilities in Central Virginia


Current Opening: 24-32 hour Outpatient Dialysis Facility in Farmville, VA-65 miles southwest of Richmond, Virginia and 50 miles southeast from Lynchburg, Virginia


This position:

* Is a renal RDN in outpatient dialysis facility covering approximately 80-100 patients.

* Includes a team of thirteen RDs in 12 facilities, providing support, education and networking.

* Enjoys working with a comprehensive interdisciplinary healthcare team in a chronic care setting.

* Provides education opportunities for MDs, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

* Encourages growth and professional advancement as part of a dynamic nutrition team.



We are seeking a Registered Dietitian who:

* Is enthusiastic about renal nutrition, continuous quality improvement and comprehensive individualized plan of care for chronic kidney disease patients.

* Is able to work well independently, as well as with a team.

* Has a minimum of one year clinical experience post registration with the CDR.

* Has a strong interest in renal disease states and clinical nutrition.
