Overview
Rental Shop Lead will safely perform inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines while leading a team of Rental Shop Technicians
The Rental Shop Lead will ensure production goals are met, by providing support, guidance, training, and evaluating rental shop technicians to ensure that services performed both satisfies customers’ needs and achieves and/or exceeds company’s department goals.

Responsibilities

Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment
Models and reinforces company policies/practices to ensure that work is performed in alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and values and in collaboration with other functions
Monitors physical requirements for work completion (facilities, tools, environmental) and communicates same on an ongoing basis to supervisor
Workorder responsibilities will include opening/closing work, recognizing when warranty or goodwill should be filed.
High level of communication with multiple departments including shops and rental staff
Demonstrates good customer relations and support
Provide input on evaluation of skills, behaviors and performance of rental shop technician to assist supervisor to complete annual and quarterly reviews of employees
High focus on expense control and days to ready; Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures; Repairs and maintains equipment and components
Provides quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasks; Plans and controls cost of repair jobs
Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
Provides a significant amount of task and behavior-oriented guidance, mentoring, and training to others
Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
5+ years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel equipment preferred
Extensive knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Proficient with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
Previous quality control analysis skills conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance and communicate findings
Previous operation and control skills controlling operations of equipment or systems
Previous equipment selection skills determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
Previous knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required
Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals
Organizational and time management skills required
Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines
Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills is required
Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner
Strong problem-solving skills and detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
Working Conditions
The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside (non-climate controlled) throughout the day around moving mechanical parts.
Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous material to prevent exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment
Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
