The I Hotel and Conference Center is seeking a Repair and Maintenance Technician with the following qualities and qualifications:
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.

Perform maintenance and repair in the areas of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electricity, mechanical, interior/exterior cleaning, and engineering tasks.
Maintain the building in good repair. This includes:
Painting, replacing worn or stained tiles, repairing furniture, locks, baseboards trim, and windows etc.
Perform daily preventive maintenance on the physical condition of buildings so they do not deteriorate.

Assure the electrical system is in good working order and
all electrical appliances are in good working order: this includes all facility
lights, emergency power, doors, fire alarms and exit lights.

Assure that all facility plumbing is in working order and in good repair.
·
Maintain all facility equipment to ensure it operates efficiently, and that machines continue to run smoothly. This would include, but is not limited to restaurant equipment, washers, dryers, boilers, HVAC, and furnaces.

Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
·
Replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
·
Record and document maintenance and repair work performed
·
Perform small furniture repairs and carpet cleaning and stain removal.
Maintain and foster good working relationships with external vendors and university staff.
·
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
·
Perform other duties or tasks not identified in this list, but which are within the competence of someone with
the above skills.
Report directly to the Director of Repair and Maintenance and IHCC upper management.
Qualifications:
·
High school diploma/GED required.
·
Experience in operating a variety of equipment; various carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and lawn tools and hand tools. Is required to operate a motor vehicle.
·
Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and mechanical tasks.
·
Be able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
·
Primary physical requirements:
1. Lift up to and sometimes over 50lbs. Employee must seek staff assistance or use appropriate lifting devices when lifting or carrying items over 25 lbs.
2. Reach above shoulder height, reach at shoulder height, and reach below shoulder height, and push/pull.
3. Can use hands: grasp, handle, torque, and use of fingers.
4. Can twist, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance.
5. Can talk, sight, taste, smell, and hear.

Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
·
Excellent communication skills. Demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain
good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.

Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
·
Ability to multi-task, with strong organizational and time management skills.
·
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow procedures.
·
Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively, and operate effectively in stressful situations.
·
Mature, with good judgment, detailed oriented, friendly and responsible.
·
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, if needed.
