REPUTATION AND STRATEGIC RISK MANAGEMENT LEAD
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position, in the Second Line of Defense (2nd LOD), will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of City National Bank's (CNB's) Reputation and Strategic Risk Management program. Responsibilities include performing effective challenge and second oversight of the strategic planning process; developing and maintaining CNB's Reputation and Strategic Risk Appetite and associated metrics; participating in the risk identification process and conducting second line challenge of new products and initiatives, and crafting the Reputation and Strategic Risk Profiles. Performs other duties/projects as needed.
What you will do
+ Perform effective challenge and second oversight of the strategic planning process, including the bank’s annual strategic plan and periodic reviews
+ Develop and maintain CNB's Reputation and Strategic Risk Appetite and associated metrics
+ Participate in the risk identification process and conduct second line challenge of new products and initiatives
+ Collaborate with other CNB functions to conduct capital planning and stress testing exercises
+ Craft the Reputation and Strategic Risk Profile reports
+ Coordinate with external banking partners, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and other managed affiliates to fulfill regulatory reporting requirements
+ Report on emerging areas of risk and implications to Reputation and Strategic risk appetite and tolerance
+ Collaborate with and support other Enterprise Risk Management functions as needed
+ Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
Must-Have*
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent MBA or CFA a plus
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in banking or consulting
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management, corporate strategy, or corporate communications
Skills and Knowledge
+ Master’s preferred
+ Knowledge of risk management methodologies and financial industry regulations (OCC, FDIC, Fed)
+ Demonstrated ability to design, develop and produce reporting for senior management
+ Experience in data management and analysis in Tableau, Appian, Excel and/or SQL
+ Demonstrated ability to think critically and facilitate change through collaborative effort
+ Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
+ Self-motivation, discipline, task focus, the ability to structure and present work and a proven record of delivering high quality results within strict deadlines
Compensation
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
