Position Overview
This position will be involved in animal husbandry that includes maintenance of breeding colonies for transgenic animals, providing support in genotyping the rats, behavioral tests, and molecular studies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively; perform other administrative/clerical tasks.
* Aptitude in general laboratory procedures, techniques, and documentation.
* Willingness to acquire competence in new techniques.

Job Duties:
- Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and/or samples.
- Keep detailed logs of all work-related activities.
- Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
- Clean, maintain and prepare supplies and work areas.
- Performs routine clerical duties as instructed, if essential to the research activities of the supervisor or project to which the research assistant is assigned.
