Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $18.32 - Midpoint: $21.97 (Hourly N4)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Research Assistant III assists with research work in support of a major research project under minimal supervision. Orders equipment and supplies. Sets up equipment. Performs experiments. Monitors results. Collects data. Prepares support material. May supervise students or other support workers assigned to the research project.

Additional Department Summary: Coordinates day-to-day activities of the HRSA SANE Nurse Training Program for West Central Alabama grant. Communicates regularly with community partners, trainees and staff. Prepares correspondence. Maintains records. Creates and maintains charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases. Schedules calendar and meetings as requested on behalf of the Project Director. Coordinates events with community partners. Assists with trainee recruitment. Manages grant funds, requests invoices for processing and keeps records of project expenditures.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent time management and organizational skills. Attention to detail. Strong presentation and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in virtual, phone, and in person formats. Ability to interact with faculty, trainees, staff and community partners at all levels with professionalism. Proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
