About the Job
The Research Associate (MRI Biophysicist) will research in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) method development on both preclinical and clinical MRI scanners and its application to human disease.
Responsibilities:1. Develop research protocols for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
2. Develop data acquisition methods for MRI.
3. Develop data processing methods for MRI.
4. Stay abreast of information and new technologies related to MRI.
5. Apply methods to the study of living cells and organisms.
6. Work together with faculty, fellows, and students at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
7. Be part of publishing papers/articles based on the research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must complete the application process and successfully attain a faculty appointment with Johns Hopkins University within the specified timeframe as determined and set forth by the hiring department at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
EDUCATION:
• Master’s degree in physics, engineering, chemistry, medical imaging, or related field required.
• Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, imaging science, or radiology, highly desirable.
• Postdoctoral training in experimental MRI research is highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least two years of experience in experimental magnetic resonance is required.
• Experience operating clinical MRI scanners is highly desirable.
• Experience operating preclinical MRI scanners is required.
• Experience writing scientific papers is required.
• Experience working together in a scientific setting is required.
