The Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of genome editing, CRISPR, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and basic bioinformatics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include developing CRISPR technology for controlled and precise genome engineering in cancer cells and primary cells. To achieve this, the candidate will employ a variety of techniques, encompassing molecular biology, next generation sequencing, and multiplex data analysis.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, become acquainted with CRISPR genome editing, literature and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts, present research findings at national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and partake in career development training programs offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
