Research Associate - Single Cell NGS Sequencing Lab - SeqMatic, LLC

About the Opportunity

SeqMatic has a Research Associate / Associate Scientist position open to join our single cell sequencing services teams. The position requires a strong background in cell biology, particularly single cell NGS / Omics workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Sample accessioning using LIMS;
• Prepare cells and tissues using manual and automated protocols;
• Prepare sequencing libraries from single cells and nuclei using workflows from 10x Genomics and Parse Biosciences
  
• Operate other common laboratory equipment such as thermocyclers, qPCR machines, and benchtop centrifuges;
• Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow lab procedures;
• Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related science;

• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cell and tissue cultures;
• 2+ years of hands-on experience performing cell and nuclei isolations using manual and automated methods such as from Miltenyi gentleMACS;
• 2+ years of hands-on experience of single cell library preparation (10x Genomics, Parse Biosciences, Takara SmartSeq, etc.)
  
• To support our “Onsite-seq” offering, occasional travel within 50 miles of our Fremont lab will be required;
• Must be highly detail-oriented and have strong lab and analytical skills;
• Experience working in clinical lab setting is preferred but not required;
• Solid English language communication skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; accommodate a flexible schedule to support the workload;
• Ability to work independently and with a team;
