• Serves as the primary point of contact for Principal Investigators and coordinates all financial aspects of research submissions, including constructing detailed budgets.
• Serves as the point of contact for all proposal components and ensures completion before submitting into approval workflow. Works with the Principal Investigator and the SPO Proposal Team to address sponsor JITs.
• Ensures adherence to institutional policies and sponsor guidelines for funding applications and performs final administrative review of proposal budgets.
• Familiar with research funding mechanisms unique to NCH (e.g., Federal, foundation, and pharma sponsored studies, etc.)
• Serves as a pre-award proposal expert, providing financial guidance, expertise on submission and JIT requirements, and creative problem solving.
• Maintains a high level of professional knowledge through self-study, research, participation in professional development, and attendance at webinars and conferences.
• Maintains a calendar of all upcoming and pending proposals. Utilizes a standard proposal budget template.
• Works closely with the RBC Lead, RBC Manager, Sponsored Projects Officers, and Director of OSP. Active member of their RBC Pod, facilitates meetings as needed to effectively plan proposal budgets.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Bachelors degree required and equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• One (1) or more years job related experience required.
• Prefer experience in Research Administration, accounting, or equivalent.
