Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing direct data and/or clinical research in support of clinical trials, studies and general research under direct supervision. Works with School of Medicine and Medical Center staff and departments, including Directors, Managers, Clinical Information Systems, Research Nursing and Regulatory Services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtain informed consent from study participants and ensure adherence to study protocols and scripts.
• Communicate with participants to schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Collect, process, and transport biospecimen samples to the lab.
• Assist with biospecimen laboratory experiments.
• Gather clinical data, including body measurements, DXA scans, and blood pressure, as per the study protocol.
• Administer study assessments such as questionnaires, chart abstraction, and electronic health record (EHR) extraction.
• Conduct follow-up calls to verify accurate data collection and assist with questionnaire completion.
• Maintain detailed records of interactions and documentation in the call center database.
• Complete paperwork related to data collection, specimen delivery, and participant incentives.
• Perform data entry and manage databases to support study operations.
• Create electronic forms, clean data, and generate reports for scheduling and follow-up.
• Ensure adequate stocking of supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain positive relationships with the study team and participants.
• Stay informed about Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and guidelines for ethical conduct and protection of human subjects.
• Assist in developing and implementing protocol-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Complete site qualification questionnaires and assess site readiness.
• Conduct pre-study visits to ensure sites meet trial requirements.
• Collaborate with investigators on trial submissions and activations.
• Provide regulatory guidance to study team members.
• Contribute to local protocol development and ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional specifications.
• Develop informed consent forms for complex clinical trials.
• Prepare, submit, and obtain approvals from scientific review committees and regulatory bodies.
• Track and manage regulatory submissions, including amendments and continuing approvals.
• Review, submit, and report IND safety data.
• Create and maintain regulatory master files for trials.
• Assist in developing training tools for study staff.
• Handle day-to-day tasks, including document management and processing changes.
• Organize and prepare Site Initiation Visits with Sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
• Meet with Sponsors and CROs during monitoring visits and ensure regulatory files are audit-ready.
• Evening, weekend hours, and some travel required.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have an Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings and/or research level institutions. Prior patient education experience and knowledge of oncology clinical trials and oncology terminology preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $74,267.59 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
