Purpose of the job
Responsible for working closely with the GM, and executive leaders to identify best practices in healthcare to improve health outcomes for all members. This involves researching Medicaid health care trends and best practices locally, regionally and nationally to position the Medicaid Segment for success and growth. Ensures alignment of business objectives, tracks internal and external health care trends and compliance within current regulatory agencies governing the Medicaid Segment. Monitors metrics of success, and create solutions, and remove barriers to ensure business goals are met. Facilitates information exchange and issue resolutions between internal business partners while maintaining contract compliance. Leverages opportunities between the Medicaid segment and other BCBSAZ segments, as applicable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience with project management and health care research
- 3-5 years of experience analyzing health care trends
- 1-2 years of experience in the legal field
- Experience with Medicaid health plans and Arizonas AHCCCS Health Plan is a plus
Required Education
- Bachelors degree in healthcare, Law, Business, Research, Statistics or related field.

Preferred Work Experience
- 6+ years of experience in healthcare operations
- 6+ years of project management and health care research experience,
- 3+ years of experience in the legal field

- Masters degree in healthcare, Law, Business, Research, Statistics or related field and/or a
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA Approved Law School

ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages strategic research projects, reports, analysis, and deadlines,
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, technical, and operations teams, to develop tailored solutions that meet AHCCCS and CMS requirements and align with our capabilities.
- Support the organizations business development activities in order to achieve renewal with the State of Arizona (AHCCCS) and growth goals
- Identifies health care trends that could help improve health equity to our members
- Advises, documents, tracks progress on research projects.
- Identifies areas to optimize efficiency and improve healthcare outcomes.
- Monitor projects, ensuring the program meets milestones, deliverables, and objectives.
- Provide expert knowledge of roadmaps and strategic view of dependencies and program solution delivery.
- Work with partners across the organization to build team relationships aligned with internal and external expectations of sales and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with segment leaders as well as partners across the organization to provide data support, analysis, tracking, trending, reporting, and recommendations to drive the decision-making and prioritization of individual growth initiatives.
- Support special projects and assignments, as needed at the direction of the segment general manager or staff vice president.
- Monitor performance measures, develop and maintain effective workflows, and maximize system efficiencies.
- Maintain effective working relationships to ensure teamwork in achieving corporate goals.
- Coordinate activities between multiple departments to achieve desired results.
- The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
