Summary:
Delivers and supports scholarly activity by assisting with investigator-initiated research, writing case reports and research for high impact journal publications. Performs data analytics and study related biostatistics and assists with writing of medical grant proposals.
Responsibilities:
Manages and conducts a program of research and scholarship as part of the associated department. Disseminates the outcomes in peer-reviewed academic journals.Assists with investigator-initiated research objectives, proposals and protocol development with IRB submission. Writes case reports on exceptional clinical cases. With regard to protocols: documents statistical methods sections, performs power analyses (sample size determinations), plans data collection and interim monitoring, and reviews all methodology to reduce bias and increase reliability, validity and data security.Creates appropriate databases and once data have been collected, conducts range and consistency checks to validate the database, and then conducts statistical analyses, interprets results with investigators, and writes statistical methodology and results sections of manuscripts.Provides tailored randomization schemes, and conducts meta-analyses including systematic literature reviews.Provides adjusted and unadjusted descriptive statistics with confidence limits, and derives multiple linear/logistic, hierarchical, and single/multi-event survival models.Leads in the further development of the associated department's research program and in seeking and pursuing appropriate external funding.

Ability to multi-task. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of prior academic-related research experience. Post-qualification research experience; track record of high quality publications and/or innovations outputs/writings of research protocols and grants that are submitted through the peer-reviewed funding process.
