The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene Inc. (RFMH) is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time Research Scientist 1 position in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Office of Population Health & Evaluation (OPHE), Bureau of Medical Informatics. This role will support the Medical Informatics team within OPHE in designing and promoting usability of data visualization tools, provide oversight for technical support help desks, conduct quality assurance testing, and interface between users and programmers to incorporate enhancements, new features, and new data sources into new and existing data visualization tools. This role will support the full requirement development process to ensure Tableau dashboards are optimally developed to meet the needs of users, promote accessibility, and are well-designed. Additionally, this role will participate in quality assurance testing of various Tableau dashboards and data tools, provide technical support including participation in the help desk, leading trainings, and writing user guides.

- Lead the full requirement development process for designing Tableau dashboards.
- Analyze existing Tableau dashboards and other software applications to understand and document functionality.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, as well as internal and external stakeholders to convert business requirements into developer-friendly specifications.
- Schedule, plan, and lead requirement gathering and review meetings with diverse stakeholders.
- Create functional designs and wireframes for internal and external Tableau dashboards.
- Effectively communicate key decisions and action items to stakeholder groups.
- Participate in quality assurance testing of Tableau dashboards and other data tools, including tracking defects and communicating with members of the information technology and data analysis teams.
- Provide technical support and assistance, including Tableau-related trainings, writing user guides, and monitoring the technical support help desk.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional research experience in an appropriate field
- OR a master's degree and one (1) year of professional research experience in an appropriate field.
- Appropriate fields include Biostatistics, Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related social science, clinical, or research field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health, or a related social science, clinical, or research field.
- Two (2) or more years of full-time work experience.
- Strong interest in and/or familiarity with front end applications and information technology systems.
- One (1) year of experience with information technology business analysis.
