Responsibilities:We are seeking a Research Technologist to join our team! Performs standard procedures as a laboratory professional with some degree of independence under the general supervision of a PI or Research Technician. May perform more complex and novel procedures and may be asked to provide guidance to students.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performs experiments and analysis of data with minimal mentoring. May be asked to make original contributions to research by writing, presenting at meetings, assisting with grant applications.
- Presents periodic project updates to department mentor and staff and if appropriate to a national meeting and/or for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
- Maintains accurate record of experiments, develops comprehensive computer skills for database searching, data acquisition, and data entry.
- Adheres to and is familiar with the policies and safety practices of the hospital, attends all required in-services regarding biohazard, infectious, and safety issues
Experience in a research laboratory or equivalent is required.
Experience as an intern or student research technician is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Undergraduate (BA/BS) Background in science field.
Special Skills
Must have excellent math skills and fundamental knowledge and background in the biological sciences.
