Position Summary
Reporting to the Residence Hall Director, and a member of the three-person leadership team for the assigned House, this live-in position manages the House's day-to-day community development services and programs in an effort to create residential living and learning communities. Supervise Resident Assistants. Liaison with House Council. Provide crisis intervention to residents; assess nature of problems and resolve or refer to supervisor for resolution. Conduct initial investigation of alleged violations of University and residence policies, hold meetings, interview participants, determine degree/seriousness of violations, and issue sanctions. This position is responsible for assigned after-hours/weekend/holiday on-call duties on a rotational basis to address any House based emergency.Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's degree andPreferred Education:Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or related fieldRequired Experience:3 years' relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience in community development activites and programming, facilities operations, and staff supervision.Preferred Experience:Experience working within a univeristy environment in community development activites and programming.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills. Good leadership and conflict resolution skills. Ability to quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations; communicate with a diverse population and supervise staff. Knowledge of standard office software package.Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $70,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
