Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.HDR has an exciting new opportunity for a Resident Engineer to join our expanding Construction Services team in NY.The Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Resident Engineer-Transit are:Manage a staff of construction inspectors, office engineers and administrative staffEnsure work is performed in accordance with the contract documents and code requirementsEnsure work is performed safely, on time and within budgetCoordinate work with facility operations and other stakeholdersPerform value engineering and constructability reviewsReview contractor’s requests for additional compensationPrepare change order documentation and negotiate fair and reasonable settlementsChairs Project Progress meetings and distributes Meeting Minutes.Prepare and update project schedules, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reportsEnsure contract payments reflect accurate quantities and are made in a timely mannerEnsure contracts are closed out in a timely manner and all required permits to occupy/use are obtainedKeyword(s): Senior Resident Engineer, Resident EngineerQualificationsQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field15 years progressive experience on multi-disciplinary transportation related construction projects, for public transit rail agencies such as MTA NYC Transit , Long Island Railroad, Metro-North RR, Amtrack or NJ TransitP.E
License or ability to obtain in New York and New Jersey within 6 months30-hour OSHA, track training, PMG 123 and EIC Blue CardMust be able to work in a team environmentMust be computer literate, experience with construction management software packages and Microsoft Office, Prolog, Primavera, etcMust have strong oral/written communication and people skills and the ability to interact with the design team and other stakeholdersAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it
