About the Job
Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Resdient Engineer to join us in Southern NY. Candidates should have experience with contractors for highway, traffic signal and pavement installation for NYSDOT or locally-administered projects, and experience working for clients like NYSDOT/Municipal clients. Technical knowledge of general and highway construction is required.
Responsibilities:• Able to lead other inspectors or act as solo inspector for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches
• Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.
• Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications
• Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisive decisions.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project
• Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
• Leading other construction inspectors; providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed
- 10+ years of transporation construction experience
- Valid US Driver's License required
- NICET IV required
- Leadsership skills & decisive decsion making
- Comfortable with using computers and adapting to softwares
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended period of time
- Strong Mathematics skills
- Great communication skills
- Attention to detail
