Neumont College of Computer Science has an immediate opening for a Residential Life Coordinator. The primary function is to promote and maintain a housing-community culture that is conducive to academic achievement and student development. The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for housing program oversight, as well as training and supporting housing student staff. Additionally, this position will contribute to college retention while working in and with the Student Affair department. The preferred candidate will be customer-service oriented, strong organization and prioritization skills while having an aptitude for learning new and complex skills as they relate to higher education and campus safety. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator who is fast-paced, outgoing, extremely organized and goal oriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Housing & Residence Life
- Ensures provision of a housing program that is:
- Cost effective
- Meets basic housing needs
- Encourages students’ well-being to allow them to focus on school
- Includes a community that is attractive to students, encourages their retention in the housing program and college, and is conducive to academic success
- Manages the housing program
- Maximizes revenue and minimize expenses
- Maintains a low vacancy rate within the program
- Anticipates program needs and proactively builds a strong housing community
- Ensures that rent and utilities are paid for all housing facilities each month
- Ensures maintenance issue are addressed and resolved in a timely fashion

- Facilitates the development of a cohesive community amongst residential students that increases student satisfaction, residence life program retention, and overall student success at the college
- Trains and assists with Resident Advisors support to achieve a high level of professionalism and contribute to the success of the residence life program
- Provide guidance and support to struggling students; identify and address college transition obstacles with the assistance of the Student Affairs team
- Conducts roommate mediations and provide other support services that result in improved roommate relationships with the assistance of the Student Affairs student advocate
- Conducts independent-living training activities (e.g. cooking, laundry) for housing students to improve skills and minimize school distractions
- Shares in team on-call responsibility to respond to urgent situations and emergences
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional and personal ethics, and commitment to Mission and organizational values
- Conducts regular assessments, both formal and informal, of the housing program to ensure resident satisfaction and progress within the department
- Responds to student requests for Residency verifications
- Managers housing population, expenses and related reports
Safety & Compliance
- Member of the Neumont Safety Committee
- Participate in Neumont safety committee meetings and training and be prepared to act and lead within an emergency and/or drill
- Ensure regular, relevant trainings are occurring for students and student workers
- Ensure Neumont is following best practices
- Along with the committee, conduct a regular review of the guiding policies and ensure stake holders have access to pertinent safety information
- Information should be clear, concise and transparent

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of work and educational experience that demonstrates the ability to the job
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, being detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task and prioritize work demands
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Able to make sound, independent decisions and complete tasks with autonomy
- Professional customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain self-control and complete tasks with frequent interruptions
- Creative, persistent, and self-motivated in developing consensus among staff members of various departments to solve organization-wide issues
- Ability to represent Neumont professionally with external vendors
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent writing skills, editing, and proofing skills
PREFERRED EXPERIANCE
- Previous residential life or housing management experience
- Experience working in accounting, office and/or property management
- 40+ hours a week, exempt
- Occasional evenings and weekends, with notice
