Residential Remodeling Controller - Lars Remodeling and Design

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lars Remodeling & Design, a distinguished home remodeling and design company with a rich legacy spanning over 30 years, is seeking a seasoned Controller who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is driven by achieving successful outcomes. A successful candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining accurate books and records based on GAAP. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager and CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with A/R and A/P as needed.
• Financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for stakeholders (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Budget process, collaborating with department heads.
• Financial analysis, providing insights for performance optimization.
• Annual insurance review and renewals for employee benefits, automobile, general liability, worker's comp, and miscellaneous policies.
• Maintain certificates for all subcontractors.
• Maintain all business certifications and business licenses.
• HR duties as needed.
• Obtain and keep all employee records in compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years' experience as a Controller, Office Manager, Full-Charge Bookkeeper or similar position, with focus in the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience in an accounting function in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems. Prior experience using QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred.
• Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing a team.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• California Notary is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrate teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Clean background check.
• This is a full-time office-based position.
