About the Job
Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Level 1 IT Support Specialist on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh area engineering consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily IT tasks such as user account setup, PC and tablet installations, and routine troubleshooting to ensure efficient and reliable technology services firm-wide. This role is ideal for an individual with strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage a dynamic, multi-location IT environment. As the first point of contact for end-user support, the Level 1 IT Support Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring client's technology infrastructure runs smoothly, supporting our engineers, surveyors, and field technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- User Account Management: Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 to ensure employees have timely access to systems and applications.
- PC and Device Setup: Install and configure new desktops, laptops, and tablets for employees across all locations, ensuring they are equipped with necessary software and configured according to company standards.
- First-Line Troubleshooting: Address Level 1 issues, such as password resets, software installations, peripheral configurations, and basic network connectivity, resolving issues or escalating as needed.
- Documentation and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to support ongoing operations and training.
- Onsite Branch Support: Travel to branch locations as needed to provide onsite support and assistance, including setup of hardware, troubleshooting, and coordination of IT resources.
- Ticket Management: Use client's IT ticketing system (Spiceworks) to log, track, and resolve requests, ensuring timely responses and documenting solutions for future reference.
- Proactive Monitoring Assistance: Collaborate with the IT Manager to monitor and update the PRTG monitoring system, helping to ensure proactive issue identification and resolution across networks and devices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of IT support experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 administration, and Active Directory.
