The position involves coordinating the development and implementation of roofing sales growth strategies and sales coverage for the assigned region's roofing outside sales team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the COO and Sales Reps to develop, implement, and manage strategic roofing target accounts for the assigned region.
- Provide input on vendor negotiations, and customer rebate programs, and evaluate new product lines in the portfolio.
- Establish roofing sales initiatives to exceed annual sales and profit budgets.
- Work with the COO to develop action plans designed to meet and exceed sales and profit goals.
- Monitor roofing sales performance scorecard and provide input.
- Review regional sales performance and make suggestions to improve procedures and understanding with the local team.
- Assist in training roofing sales personnel and emphasize continued professional development through training and sales programs.
- Promote and assist with customer portal and company CRM; train Account Managers to use it to generate more revenue.
- Meet regularly with sales personnel to review company, customer, market, and competitive information.
- Ensure appropriate information is communicated to the VP, sales teams, and marketing staff.
- Promote alignment throughout all departments to ensure the entire roofing product portfolio is well-stocked and represented in each market.
- Provide regular updates to the COO on regional sales performance and initiatives.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; recommend changes and/or additions.
- Work on customer events with the marketing team as needed.
- Support other branches as needed and directed by the COO.
- Promote the organization in the roofing industry, manufacturing, or trade associations by attending meetings, shows, and conventions as requested.
- Directly supervise the assigned region's roofing outside sales team in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Be an expert in roofing product lines, selling agreements, customer service inside sales tactics, and value propositions.
- Continually build sales presentation, effective rapport-building, and relationship skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and manage the sales team effectively.
- Utilize computer-based sales and inventory management analysis programs effectively.
- Maximize profit opportunities in a sales environment and be comfortable with a team-focused approach.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successful sales, negotiation, and deal-closing abilities, preferably in the roofing industry.
- Understanding of roofing materials, techniques, and industry trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
- Strong focus on customer needs and satisfaction.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to analyze sales data, market research, and customer information to identify sales opportunities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills within the construction industry.
- Experience in creating and executing sales plans, meeting sales targets, and managing client relationships.
- Familiarity with construction project cycles, bid processes, and contractor/subcontractor relationships.
- Ability to work independently and proactively seek out new sales opportunities.
- Capacity to handle rejection and persist in the face of challenges.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in the market and industry.
- A valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules and attend industry events.
Salary and Benefits:
- Full-time.
- Base salary at $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- Commission pay (1% of all residential sales).
