Resource Triage Coordinator Job Details Job Location Bellevue - Bellevue, WA Position Type Full Time Salary Range $92,000.00 - $138,000.00 Salary Description and Qualifications The Resource Triage Coordinator (RTC) supports the mission and goals of LifeCenter Northwest (LCNW) by providing leadership and guidance to clinical staff. The RTC directly oversees the identification, evaluation of potential donors, logistics and staffing for clinical case activity. The RTC collaborates with the Clinical Administrator on Call (AOC) and Family Support Administrator On Call (FS AOC) to provide continuity of service to hospital partners and donor families. The RTC will participate in a blended schedule of on-call and business hours, serving as a clinical expert and contributing to strategic objectives and other initiatives. The RTC works closely with ODS leadership with direct accountability for organ donation and organ conversion outcomes. A. Oversight of Day-to-day Organ Donation Activity: Engages proactively in all active referrals, determines suitability, provides direction on potential donor cases, and manages logistics and staffing. + Engages proactively in donation referral activity by providing guidance to clinical services and organ procurement team members utilizing highly developed clinical expertise and advanced knowledge of the organ donation process. + Outcome: Functions as a first line resource to Organ Recovery Coordinators (ORCs), Organ Donation Coordinators (ODCs) and Clinical Communication Coordinators (CCCs) in referral processes. Leads 24/7 referral response and ensures consistent practice aimed at maximizing donation potential and organ donor outcomes. + Assessment: Evaluates and monitors clinical processes and referral activity and documents per standards. + Intervention: Acts as the first line of communication for ORCs, ODCs and CCCs, providing real-time clinical expertise and oversight aimed at maximizing donation during the referral processes for potential organ cases. Works in concert with the AOC and consults the Medical Advisor as indicated. + Provides resource management and direction to the clinical teams to manage day-to-day operations and in response to referral activity. + Outcome: Problem solves with team members and provides logistical expertise in all areas of the donation process. + Assessment: Effectively oversees clinical activity to ensure proper staffing, and travel logistics. + Intervention: Uses available resources and thoughtfully utilizes available staff to optimize efficiencies. + Facilitates retrospective referral reviews. + Outcome: Facilitates referral reviews with the RTCs, AOCs, ORCs, ODCs and Medical Director/Advisors as appropriate. + Assessment: Uses training, experience, and knowledge to identify referrals that need internal review. Sets up reviews with the appropriate individuals and leads discussions focused on learning points which increase donor potential and conversion rates. + Intervention: Identifies and facilitates retrospective referral reviews with appropriate stakeholders. Shares learning points with applicable parties and incorporates into practice. B. Training Support and Mentoring: Collaborates with Procurement Training and Clinical Managers to provide continued education and mentorship to ORCs, ODCs and CCCs. + Serves as a subject matter expert for Training and participates in ongoing training. + Outcome: Assists with the refinement and delivery of training as indicated and coaches ORCs/ODCs and CCCs during referral activity. + Assessment: Works with Procurement Training Team to assist with ongoing training initiatives. Provides real time coaching and feedback to coordinators. + Intervention: Reports on any themes and gaps in knowledge observed during interactions with clinical teams. Approaches gaps with a solution-based mindset. + Engages in clinical presentations, education and best practice sharing internally and externally. + Outcome: Serves as a leader and expert by maintaining best practice knowledge, and networking with external partners. + Assessment: Participates/attends external webinars, conferences, provides advanced clinical presentations. Shares information internally and externally. + Intervention: Proactively seeks opportunities to engage in gathering and sharing knowledge to stay current in the field of organ procurement. C. Schedule Obligations: Participates in a hybrid call and business schedule to provide critical thinking and decision making for daily clinical operations. + Self-schedules to cover the call schedule with 12 hour shifts. + Outcome: Works required 13 shifts per two pay periods, attends assigned meetings and completes project work in a timely manner. One shift every other pay period is considered back-up call. + Assessment: Collaborates with RTC team to cover thirteen 12- hour shifts per month including holiday coverage. Day and night shift coverage required. + Intervention: Works with RTC team to complete a monthly schedule, attends meetings and contributes to project work as assigned. Requests PTO per established process. + Attends all required meetings as assigned by the Organ Procurement Manager and Director and assists with project improvement initiatives. + Outcome: Acts as a clinical expert and leader in job functions outside of call days. + Assessment: Attends and participates in mandatory meetings and communicates information to the RTC team as appropriate. + Intervention: Engaged and involved in pertinent meetings and project work. D. Communication and Collaboration: Works with internal and external partners in efforts to optimize organ donor outcomes and cultivate relationships in the donation community. + Professionally represents LifeCenter Northwest and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders. Ensures effective communication and collaboration with clinical and hospital development staff, management, and senior leadership. + Outcome: Responsible for effective communication and coordination with medical professionals, hospitals, and donation organizations. Supports Hospital Development (HD) as a clinical resource. + Assessment: Develops and maintains effective relationships with clinical and transplant stakeholders. Collaborates with donor hospital staff to facilitate successful transplant outcomes. + Intervention: Works with internal and external partners in person or virtually to educate, collaborate and identify opportunities to maximize organ recovery and transplantation. + Leads and assists in initiatives and projects with the focus on improving processes and/or outcomes as assigned by leadership. Assists in the delivery of information and roll-out of new processes. + Outcome: Assists the leadership and training teams in communication of upcoming changes and assists with the implementation of initiatives. + Assessment: Actively involved in meetings and projects as assigned. Serves as a clinical resource for ODS and other departments including giving presentations. + Intervention: Leads and assists with assigned projects/initiatives and intentionally communicates them to the clinical teams. E. Administrative and Quality: Works in concert with ODS Leadership, Medical Leadership, Clinical Operations Training Program Manager, and Quality Departments to increase donation and transplantation outcomes and compliance with quality processes. + Ensures documentation meets the required LCNW SOP's, CMS Regulations, UNOS Policy, and AOPO standards. + Outcome: Assists in the oversight of all medical and legal documentation requirements. + Assessment: Demonstrates expertise in SOPs, CMS Regulations, UNOS Policy, and AOPO Standards. + Intervention: Guides ORCs/ODCs in successfully completing components of clinical and regulatory documentation related to referral response. 2. Collaborates with Medical Data Specialists (MDS) to review death records and assess for missed donation potential. + Outcome: Uses clinical expertise to assess for donation potential on retrospective death record reviews. + Assessment: Accurately completes MDS reviews in assigned timeframe. + Intervention: Utilizes electronic medical data and other appropriate references to determine organ donor suitability and missed opportunities. ??????? Supervision + This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. The position indirectly influences others by assigning and overseeing their daily activities related to referred patients. Physical Activities/Requirements + This position requires on-call responsibilities and travel may be required for this position; must be prepared to travel by automobile and aircraft within and outside the LifeCenter service area. + This position requires the ability to effectively operate phones, computers, smart phones, and office equipment. + The individual must have the ability to communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the phone. + Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. + Must have a clear understanding of universal precautions and consistently adhere to these standards. + Work is normally performed in an office setting as well as other business environments. Generally, working conditions do not have exposure to bio-hazardous materials, but occasional work in alternative settings, including healthcare facilities, may be required; in this setting, working conditions may include exposure to bio-hazardous materials. This position is required to follow hospital immunization, health screening, and background check requirements. Immunizations and tests will be provided by LifeCenter as required. ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT This position requires on-call availability, including holiday, evening, and weekend work , sometimes without advance notice. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS + Registered nurse or equivalent degree in healthcare-related sciences required. + Relevant work experience may be considered as a substitution for academic requirements. + Minimum of three (3) years OPO clinical experience required. + CPTC required. + ACLS preferred. + Requires a valid driver's license and access to an insured automobile for work-related functions at expected times. + Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or applicable medical or religious exemption will be required as a condition of employment upon offer.
