Our Pulmonary Department is seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist-PFT to perform therapeutic, diagnosic and monitoring services in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory. In accordance with a physician's order, the Respiratory Therapist-PFT performs procedures with a degree of independent clinical judgement. The Respiratory Therapist-PFT maintans safe operation, calibration, maintenance and quality control of the equipment used in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory.
The Respiratory Therapist-PFT acts as a critical member of the patient care team within the department and collaborates fully with the other care team members in assuring continuity of care of their patients. The Respiratory Therapist-PFT promotes a philosophy of patient/family focused care in all interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel and focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree or equivalent. Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPT) certification preferred or obtained within six months. Basic Life Support level for Health Providers certification required. Must have 1-2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience as an RRT in hospital or physician office. Must have 6 months to 2 years of experience as a Pulmonary Function Technologist. Proficient with pulmonary testing and equipment. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision. Must cooperate well with others by demonstrating flexibility and working in a collaborative manner to meet departmental needs. Considerable tact required in most duties to achieve results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of dependability and accuracy required.
