Summary:
- The Respiratory Therapist measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
- May perform tobacco cessation education, bedside PFT, EKGs, etc as ordered by the provider.
- Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
- Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
- Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
- Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
- Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
- Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Qualifications:
- Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care License.
- Graduate of a CRT or RRT Program required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.

Additional Info:
- Facility is 80 bed acute care hospital.
- Positions are night shift 7pm-7am and will have to rotate weekends.
- The range is $24hr-$36hr depending on experience. They have an excellent benefit package and will offer some relocation/sign on bonus.
