Responsibilities:The Local Traveler Program is available to employees who live a significant distance from their assigned hospital location, encouraging healthcare professionals from other nearby cities to consider opportunities with Northside and allowing us to retain valuable staff who relocate from the metro-Atlanta area.
Local Travelers receive the standard, competitive salary and benefits offered to all Northside employees, plus an additional $7.00 per hour to compensate for travel expenses. Local Travelers are not compensated for their commute time to their hospital location. Northside is not responsible for employee actions during their commute and/or overnight stays in the Atlanta area.
Qualifications:REQUIRED:
- The employee must be a non-management registered nurse or respiratory therapist working in an approved department (i.e. Operations Coordinators, Managers and Directors do not qualify).
- Respiratory Therapists must live a minimum of 49 miles one way from their assigned location. The Human Resources Department must approve employees for the program. Mileage will be calculated using web-based mapping technology (Google Maps, MapQuest, etc.)
- The employee must be a full-time, part-time or per diem status employee.
- Local Traveler employees must continue to meet department specific call requirements.
- Employees are responsible for notifying human resources of any change in address, as quickly as possible
- Northside Hospital has the right to verify documentation submitted to support eligibility for the local traveler program. Employees will not receive prior notice of removal from the program if/when they are no longer eligible for the program or fail to submit the required annual documentation for program renewal. This includes Grandfathered employees who change shifts, status, position, department or primary residence.
