Job Overview
As a Respiratory Therapist in an LTAC facility, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at providing high-quality care and achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist in LTAC
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic tests.
- Monitor, record, and report on patients' response to treatments and overall health status.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to respiratory therapy practices.
- Support a positive and safe healthcare environment for both patients and staff.
Essential Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist in LTAC
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in an LTAC or critical care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
