We provide specialized care services for patients requiring extended medical care and rehabilitation. Those with catastrophic or acute illnesses and injuries can work towards recovery. We also offer both short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, along with a full respiratory unit that provides ventilator care and all respiratory needs.
Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking full-time Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) for our long-term care (LTC) facilty. As a respiratory therapist at Spring Creek, you will be responsible for the care and needs of our many residents and patients. Requirements: · Must have current Ohio Respiratory Therapist license in good standing · No experience necessary, we welcome new grads!
Duties and Responsibilities of our Respiratory Therapist include but not limited to the following:
- Administers proficiently IPPB therapy, incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy and postural drainage/percussion.
- Initiates, monitors and maintains oxygen and humidity therapy.
- Monitors patients on continuous therapy.
- Performs arterial punctures and blood gas analysis.
- Draws and prepares medications to be used during IPPB and aerosol therapy.
- Assembles suction equipment for patient use throughout the facility and perform suctioning procedures as required.
- Performs pulmonary screening under the direction of a physician and calculates the results, assuring that they are recorded on the patient’s chart.
- Performs patient evaluations, work-ups and therapy recommendations when needed or required.
- Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures.
- Initiates, maintains and modifies mechanical ventilation.
- Performs pulse oximetry checks, continuous monitoring and monitor down loading/printing.
- When work permits, assist with nursing duties, including but not limited to answering call lights, vitals, grooming, bathing, dressing, transportation and transferring.
- Surveys Blood Analyzer’s quality control and daily maintenance.
- Ensures documentation of treatments and patient program.
- Charts pertinent information on patients’ treatment sheets and reports information to other therapists and technicians on the recorded shift report.
- Performs routine maintenance, cleaning and sterilizing techniques.
- Assists the director in evaluating equipment functioning and administration of therapy.
- Assists in instructing other hospital personnel in technique procedures and use of equipment as related to respiratory care.
- Assists in the development of manuals, guides, records and other informational materials for the department.
- Participates on committees and special task forces as needed.
- Monitors supplies and reports any needs for reordering to designated person.
- Ensures the confidentiality of patient/resident and facility information.
- Maintains professional working relationships and positive guest relations by working closely with patients, residents, families and nursing staff.
