Job Description :
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
+ Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
+ Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
+ Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
+ Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school OR six months to one year related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
+ Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or TPP required.
+ Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the TPP.
+ CPR – American Heart Association
+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
+ Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT preferred.
+ One year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
