This position is an awesome opportunity for a current Respiratory Therapy student, looking to fine tune their skills at our Trauma I Center. Students work a flexible nights schedule, with a commitment of 3 shifts per 6 week schedule. Students will learn from their experiences in our Emergency Department, ICU's, General floors, and Burn Unit. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.
What You Will Do:Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice.
- Administer medication and treatment based on patient outcomes, under appropriate supervision.
- Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Temporary Permit Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date -Or- Student Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
