Assistant General Manager - Charlotte, NC
Are you an experienced professional in Restaurant Management looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our strong team in Charlotte, NC. This role is pivotal in ensuring every guest receives exceptional service while overseeing day-to-day operations in both the Heart of the House (Kitchen) and the Front of the House.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and uphold all company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous, and exceptional service.
- Act as a role model and facilitator in nearly all hourly positions.
- Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure it adheres to company standards.
- Achieve sales, service, safety, and sanitation objectives by effectively training staff.
- Control cash and other receipts following established procedures.
- Assist in employment decisions, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching.
- Develop hourly employees in managerial and professional skills to build future leadership.
- Prepare required paperwork, including inventory, par sheets, ordering, forms, reports, performance reviews, and schedules.
- Monitor purchasing, receiving, inventory, and cost management of all food and beverage products.
- Control labor costs by assisting in scheduling based on forecasted sales and positions needed.
- Administer consistent corrective action for policy violations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements.
- Facilitate the flow of service from the kitchen to the Front of the House.
- Support opening and closing procedures for both the kitchen and dining areas.
- Identify and recruit outstanding talent to build a strong team.
- Foster a fun, safe, and rewarding work environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of restaurant-related experience in an hourly or managerial position.
- Excellent basic math skills and proficiency with cash registers and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Capability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 10 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per week.
