A Front of House Manager plays a vital role in the success of restaurants and other establishments that offer food services. They are responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing revenue.
Job Description
As a Front of House Manager, your main responsibility is to ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience while dining at the establishment. This includes overseeing all aspects of front-of-house operations such as greeting customers, taking reservations, managing waitlists, and ensuring high-quality customer service.
You will also be responsible for managing and training staff members, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, and busboys. This involves creating schedules, delegating tasks, providing feedback
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 plus bonus

As a Front of House Manager, you'll play a crucial role in our day-to-day operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our patrons receive the outstanding food, drinks, and service that we're known for. You'll also hire and train a winning team, manage resources, plan promotional events, and work towards business objectives that will boost our profits and enhance the satisfaction of our customers.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; a Bachelors degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field is desirable
- Prior restaurant management experience with sales volume of $7,000,000 a year or more required
- Proficiency in restaurant back office software, particularly Toast
- Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service aptitude
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage aspects of the business, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, managing budgets, and setting goals
- Hire, train, and supervise staff to provide excellent service to patrons
- Create schedules while respecting labor laws and regulations
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed and coach staff when necessary
- Plan and participate in promotional events
- Handle guest complaints promptly and efficiently
- Monitor, order, and manage supplies, ensuring adherence to stock control procedures
- Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions
This Front of House Manager position operates in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment. Physical demands include remaining stationary for long periods, frequently washing hands, lifting up to 45 lbs, and possessing the ability to hear, talk, and have good close and distance vision.
Candidates for the Front of House Manager position must be legally authorized to work in the United States, at least 21 years old, and maintain their state health and/or alcohol compliance card. Proficiency in English and restaurant management experience in sales volume of at least $7 Million a year is desired. Union experience is a plus.
