About the Job
The Manager M1 at Julio’s Mexican Food is responsible for running a smooth operation during service. Manages staff enforcing policies and procedures. Oversees quality and consistency of food. Negotiates with vendors prices of food products to ensure quality as good as the best price to achieve food cost goal according to forecast. Takes care of all purchases including Liquor and supplies. Receives incoming product to ensure quality and freshness. Performs weekly inventory to determine purchases. Performs Monthly inventories to determine monthly food cost. Attends to customer complaints practicing LAST method (Listen, apologize, solve, thank). Like all other positions at the Restaurant must comply with all company policies.
Primary responsibilities
- Show up ready for work at the time scheduled.
- Maintain your personal appearance in accordance to restaurant grooming standards.
- Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.
- Avoids legal challenges by conforming to the regulations of the alcoholic beverage commission.
- Maximizes bar profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring accuracy of charges.
- Maintains safe, secure and healthy environment by following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations, securing revenues.
- Implements disaster plans maintaining security and sprinkler system, parking lot and walkways.
- Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, utensil quality and placement.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Coordinated daily inventories.
- Analyzes variances and takes corrective action.
- Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring and evaluating food and beverage offering as well as service; initiating improvement and building relationships with patrons.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.
- Attends to the front of the house once the restaurant is open to the public.
- Recommends disciplinary action to GM for misbehaving employees.
- If informed of possible absenteeism find a replacement for that particular shift.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with all employees.
- Motivate suggestive and upgrade sale among the wait staff.
- Assist team in bussing tables or other functions when necessary.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to GM.
- Report any need of maintenance to GM.
- Replace any missing items and foods.
- Opening and closing the restaurant following check list and making sure that parking and dumpster area are taken care of.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- People Management, Planning, Foster Teamwork, Giving Feedback, Customer Service, Developing Budgets, Self-Motivated, Energy Level, Multi-tasking, Resolving Conflict, Verbal Communication.
- Must have a current Food Management card issued by the State of Texas.
- Must demonstrate full knowledge of the food, beverage and dessert menu in order to be able to answer any questions. Must possess ability to compute mathematical calculations.
