Overview:
Restaurant Steward
The Restaurant Steward is responsible for performing all phases of kitchen cleaning to maintain safe and sanitary conditions while under the Steward's supervision.
- Responsible for all breakdown, feed, catch and proper sorting of all china, silverware, and glassware as it is brought to the Dish Room
- Wash pots and pans and properly sort and store them on the pot shelves
- Clean walls, ceilings, baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards
- Sweep and mop all floors
- Remove trash from the kitchen areas to the Trash Room
- Polish silver, glass and brass in all outlets as needed
- Clean and maintain dish machines in all outlets
- Wash kettle pots on hot line as needed
- Responsible for cleaning loading dock bay area with pressure washer
- inventory china, glass, silver and linen
- Inform Steward of needed supplies
- Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects
- Strong people skills
- Communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Minimum age is 18 years old
