About the Job
Biohabitats, a leading conservation planning, ecological restoration, regenerative design, and construction firm is seeking a Restoration Field Technician to join our self-perform construction team in our Portland, Oregon location. Our self-perform construction crews are led by restoration specialists who manage projects from a values and people first mindset.
This opportunity is for a Green Street Infrastructure project in the Portland Metro area, which may extend to additional river and stream restoration construction projects in the summer seasons. The project’s focus is natural area vegetation maintenance, including invasive vegetation identification and removal, as well as native plant installation and maintenance.

Successful candidates for the position have experience in and enjoy performing a variety of field and construction tasks, but prior experience is not required. Applicants must be self-motivated and passionate about the environment. They should be sincerely interested in physically restoring the earth and inspiring ecological stewardship.
Responsibilities
• Green Street infrastructure and natural area vegetation maintenance.
• Invasive species identification and removal.
• Native species installation and maintenance.
• Additional project responsibilities, as required.
Qualities, Experience, and Knowledge
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and variable terrain.
• Experience working on a crew and following directions.
• Ability to perform physical labor, safely use hand and power tools, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a public-facing role, respectfully representing Biohabitats and our clients.
• Interest in native and invasive vegetation with on-the-job training available.
• Commitment to Biohabitats’ safety program.

Compensation and Employment
• Hourly; expected 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
• Anticipated start date November 5, 2024.
• Compensation starts at $23/hour with opportunity for advancement.
